2. The Banquet

Head down to The Banquet in Calgary’s University District for a night of unique bowling. The bar offers incredible food, fun events, live music and duckpin bowling! The Banquet is the only venue in Calgary that features duckpin bowling.

If you aren’t sure what duckpin bowling is, it’s similar to candlepin bowling, in which the pins are arranged in a triangle, identical to ten-pin bowling. However, the pins are shorter, thinner, and lighter than ten-pin bowling balls. Plus, the bowling balls are smaller and do not have finger holes, making it slightly more challenging to get a strike.

If you want to do things in Calgary for adults, check out The Banquet. After 8 pm, the bar becomes an adult-only venue for the rest of the evening.

The Banquet also has a location in Mahogany, which offers $2 bowling on Monday nights! It is first come, first served, so arrive early. If you are also looking for other inexpensive things, check out 19 free things to do in Calgary.
